Individual Therapy

All staff administer assessments, conduct observations and deliver therapy, as well as provide you and external services with strategies and recommendations to achieve your goals.

Service delivery can occur across different natural environments to ensure generalisation of skills. This can include within the Home, at School and at Preschool, at the local Park, within Community facilities and Community sporting groups.

OECI currently provides regular outreach services to many towns in our region.

PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy assists babies to achieve gross motor milestones including rolling, crawling, sitting, and walking. Similarly, Physiotherapy supports older children to develop core strength to assist with balance, ball skills, jumping, skipping, hopping and running.

This can also involve assessing the need for specialised equipment to aid the child to meet their developmental milestones. 

BABY STEPS

Baby Steps is a Communities for Children funded program, which monitors and supports premature and at risk babies and their families. You will have regular contact with our Physiotherapist until the child is 12 months old. If your child requires further monitoring or assistance we will assist you with a pathway during this time.

SPEECH PATHOLOGY

Speech Pathologists diagnose and treat communication disorders, including difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, social skills, stuttering and using voice, as well as addressing feeding concerns. Speech Pathology also incorporates implementing specialised and alternative communication methods, including prescribing Speech Generating Devices.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational Therapy supports many areas of children’s development including; self care, fine motor, sensory, play and cognition. It focuses on increasing the child’s functional ability to complete activities of daily living, whilst considering their environment and what supports or modifications might be required to achieve these everyday tasks 

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Early Childhood Education supports children to improve their cognition, concentration and attention, socialisation and play skills. In the Early Intervention sector, Educators liaise closely with families and external services to facilitate a smooth entry into Preschool and School.

ALLIED HEALTH AND EDUCATION ASSISTANTS (AHEA)

Allied health assistants can contribute to achieving participant outcomes, under the supervision of Allied Health and Education Professionals. Allied health assistants can provide increased flexibility when offering service provision as well as cost effective therapy services.
